Adult Ministries - Disability

Purpose

Our purpose is to provide opportunities for people with physical disabilities to experience fellowship and church-related activities.

What We Do

We meet on the third Sunday every other month in the Chapel's All-Purpose Building (APB) at 1:30 PM.

On the last Tuesday of each month, from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., we meet at the Lincoln Park Sub-acute Rehab Center Bldg. #2 for Bible study and fellowship.

We also, meet at the Preakness Healthcare Center for Bible study every Tuesday night at 7:00 - 8:00 pm (Building 3, Wayne) and every other Tuesday night at 7:00 - 8:00 pm, (Building 1, Haledon).

It Can Be Lonely When You Can't Get Around

Many people with disabilities have never been to church. They are hindered from getting where they want to go, perhaps they have no family in the area, and since they can't get out much they have a difficult time developing relationships.

We're helping to meet some of those needs. If you are wheelchair bound, call the number below and we'll do our best to provide you with transportation to our events or to the Sunday worship services.

Blessings of Selflessness

Indeed, our van driver is a real blessing to this ministry. Each Sunday he leaves early to pick up those people who can't drive, and by the time he's finished dropping them off back at home it's late in the day. The blessings of ministry can come to anybody who helps a person with special needs, because we learn how much it means to give to others, and we develop relationships with those people.

It is rewarding to see people enjoy experiences they couldn't otherwise have. The caring our group shows helps those we minister to understand the unconditional love offered by our Savior. So our ministry blesses both the helpers and those who are helped.
