Children's Ministries: Nursery School

Purpose

To provide a quality Christian education for pre-school children, with the goal of developing each child's social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual potential in a warm and loving atmosphere.

What We Do

Jacksonville Chapel's Nursery School, a ministry of the Chapel, has been operating for 26 years. It is state certified and currently has 205 children enrolled. We are non-denominational, and accept children of all faiths.

The school has 15 classes (age breakdowns as of October 1):

MOM & ME: For children at least 30 months old. The class meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:15 to 11:15 with a parent or grandparent.

THREE-YEAR OLDS (3's): Meets two sessions a week on either Monday and Wednesday mornings or Tuesday and Thursday mornings or afternoons.

FOUR-YEAR OLDS (4's): Class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings or afternoons.

PRE-K (Older 4 and 5-year olds): Classes meets Monday through Thursday mornings or afternoons.

Morning classes meet from 9:00-11:30, and afternoon classes meet 12:15-2:45. School is in session from September through May. Classes are limited to 14 students in the 3's and 16 in the 4's and Pre-K. Each class is taught by a certified Christian teacher and an experienced teacher's assistant.

Parent Participation Opportunities

Opportunities are provided throughout the year in which parents may participate. A visit to the pumpkin farm and park in the fall, Thanksgiving mini-feast, Christmas and Easter celebrations, and a Mother's Day party are together times for parent and child. Two conferences are provided during the year as well as the fall Parent Night. A graduation party culminates the year for the 4's and Pre-K.
