Worship Ministries: Band

Purpose

Who has not been touched by the beauty and power of music? The Psalms of the Bible are filled with music and rhythm, singing, harps, and sacred melodies. We use the talents God has given us to bring beauty into our worship services and assurance to those who don't yet have a personal relationship with God, but whose hearts might be softened by the melodies we play. Under the direction of Don Amari, the Chapel Band has been playing together for more than 16 years. Their repertoire ranges from John Philip Sousa marches to great hymns of the faith.

How We Present Christ

What importance could a concert band have as a ministry? Ask the people who have attended our performances and sensed God's presence. Talk to many of those right in our midst, those who joined us just wanting to play an instrument, but who then were moved by our spiritual unity until their hearts drew closer to God. We've played in worship services both in our church and others, in various community settings, for senior citizens groups, and our annual Christmas cantata. Pretty much wherever people want to hear-- beautiful music, sacred or secular, you'll find us there.

More Than Just Musicians

What a blessing it has been to see our band grow together. Where once there were many talented musicians playing individual instruments, we now have oneness in our artistic and musical presence. Like any winning team, we've come to know what it takes to succeed. And we give all our glory to God, in whom we are made into one spiritual family.

Chapel Praise Band

The Chapel Praise Band accompanies our 11:15 AM contemporary worship service. If you are interested in contemporary worship and play bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion, or sing maybe this is the place for you. Please call Lauren at the Chapel office to set up an interview and audition.

Drama

With a goal of reaching people with the gospel in every way possible, it is our desire to grow a dynamic drama ministry. In the upcoming year drama will begin to play a role not only in special events but also in our weekly worship experience. We are looking for individuals that have an interest in helping us develop this exciting new ministry area. If you have experience in theater or a desire to reach people through the dramatic arts, please call the Chapel office and talk with Lauren.

How to Reach Us

The Chapel Band is open to all instrumentalists from 9th grade and up. The Band rehearses each Monday evening at 8:00 PM in the Chapel Worship Center. For more information contact Don Amari at (973) 334-8158.
