Worship Ministries: Choir

Purpose

Our choir wishes to provide the congregation of Jacksonville Chapel with the opportunity to worship the living God, with the goal of glorifying Him and edifying the body of Christ.

Organized over 50 years ago the Chapel Choir is one of the most energized groups at Jacksonville Chapel. The choir is open to all men and women ages 9th grade and up.

When We Meet

We sing during the 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. services, with a break in July and August. We rehearse each Tuesday evening from 7:15 PM – 9:00 PM in the Chapel Worship Center. Quality childcare is provided for all choir rehearsals.

Enjoying the Music of Generations Past and Present

From Charles Wesley in the 1700's to today's Twila Paris, beautiful hymns and spiritual songs have changed the hearts and deeds of those who have been fortunate to hear them. Good Christian music is that which we enjoy when we hear it, and then rejoice in all the more as its teaching produces fruit that helps us live victoriously.

Evangelism and Encouragement, Not Entertainment

It's wonderful to hear beautiful voices singing well-composed and rehearsed hymns, yet more than anything we in the music ministry like to hear you tell us things like, "I really felt God speak to me in that song," or "You encouraged me today." The Spirit of God uses both the easy and electrifying music that's out there to reach the serene and the supercharged.
